Additionally, dates will be announced for trainings facilitated on behalf of the Lost Hopes & Dreams training program sponsored by the NJ Stillbirth Awareness campaign for NJ licensed providers.

Three Little Birds has also been invited to support the training of bereavement staff on behalf of the City of Philadelphia Department of Health through the Philly SOARS initiative.

2024 Training
Our 2024 training program concluded with 13 individuals completing our virtual training program to support our Bedside Bereavement Program (27 total trained advocates, to date). This includes five parent advocates and eight professionals at Cooper University Hospital and Jefferson Hospital Philadelphia.

Additionally, Three Little Birds was invited to collaborate on a statewide training program on behalf of the NJ Stillbirth Awareness titled, Lost Hopes and Dreams, which saw the training of 275 varied NJ Providers (physicians, nurses, midwives/doulas, lactation professionals, social workers and postpartum consultants).

Educational Scholarships available
Three Little Birds Co-Founders, Kristen & Brent Samuelson, launched the "A girl named Jimmie" scholarship for individuals interested in supporting perinatal bereavement!
This scholarship will allow medical professionals/students, loss parents and advocates to support bereavement when working in the family building community through our Perinatal Bereavement Training Program. We are specifically looking for big-hearted individuals in Philadelphia, Southeastern PA and throughout the State of NJ to help expand our Bedside Bereavement Program and institute consistent peer led perinatal bereavement care where programs do not currently exist. Applications are always open. You will be notified of award prior to the next upcoming training schedule (TBD for 2025 - Check back for updates).
