STILLBIRTH SUPPORT

Bedside Bereavement Program...

No one ever imagines hearing their provider tell them, "I'm sorry, there is no heartbeat", or "I'm sorry, but we need to make life/death decisions after the birth of a baby."

Unfortunately, this is the reality for one in every four parents on their family building journey. Three Little Birds was founded to support parents and providers in navigating these difficult moments and empower them in making the most of the short moments families will have to be together, bond and make memories.

Since 2016, our volunteers have supported more than 300 providers and parents having an advocate support them bedside in navigating difficult conversations, honoring cultural/spiritual/personal diversity and giving the gift of memory making, bonding and infant remembrance portraiture.

Overview/process for support

We ask providers contact us ASAP via this form or call/texting 856-656-6436 when a family is experiencing a loss, even if you haven't presented our offerings to them. This will allow us to set up a 48-72 hour window of availability for our volunteers. The sooner we know of a potential need, the greater the chances are we can send an advocate. Please note, our call hours are 7 AM-10 PM daily.

Once a time is agreed upon, Three Little Birds will dispatch a volunteer to support both the family and provider bedside. This includes meeting parents where the are, listening to their needs, validating their loss and requests, offering resources and options for consideration and supporting families in their choices, no matter what they choose.
